Thing_Three -- from another anonymous reviewer of Telecommunication Breakdown:

The book is written in a lively manner and is very readable. The book is original in its scope and intended audience: apparently, it aims to teach juniors or seniors about receiver design without requiring extensive background in signals and systems or probability theory. Along the way, they learn about adaptive signal processing as well as Matlab and more general engineering design principles. Teaching undergraduates how to implement a receiver is a challenge that to my knowledge has not been undertaken before. This book will help make it possible.
